Choir Geek — Help v9.42
Everything Choir Geek can do. Tap any + for the full detail.
These three work best together
Phrase Loop
Repeat a tricky section until you nail it.
Tap Phrase Loop Start when you reach it, then again where you want to stop. It loops that section until you're ready to move on.
Slow Down Playback
Drop the tempo without changing the pitch.
Drag the Speed slider left to slow down — anywhere from normal to −35%, with the pitch unchanged. The reading turns red while you're slowed; slide back to Normal to reset. The tick marks are handy reference points.
Switch Part Mid-Song
Swap vocal parts instantly without stopping.
Select a different part from the Part dropdown mid-song and Choir Geek switches instantly, picks up from the same point, and keeps your phrase loop active.
Lyrics controls
Page Zoom
Make the lyrics bigger — zoom saves per song.
Pinch the lyrics to zoom on a touch screen. On a computer, use the zoom slider (50–200%) with − and + on each end — it gently catches at 100%. Zoom is saved per song. The ☀ − + pill in the corner dims or inverts the page for dark rooms, remembered separately for light and dark mode.
Scroll Lyrics
Record a map once and the lyrics follow the music.
Tap Record Scroll and the lyrics start following the song. Tap Hold to keep the focus band on the current section, and Scroll on to move through to the next — set the speed to suit. Tap Save when you're done and Autoscroll turns on. Scroll the page yourself any time to take over — Autoscroll switches off until you turn it back on. The ⋯ menu has Re-record, Clear map, and (if your choir provides one) Use choir map. The focus band that highlights the current line shows automatically while playing — turn it off in Settings if you prefer.
Fullscreen
Fill your screen with lyrics — perfect for a music stand.
Tap Fullscreen to fill your screen with the lyrics, ideal for a tablet on a music stand. On a phone, go landscape for a wider view. Playback controls stay at the bottom.
Preferences
Your Default Part
Set your part once and every song opens straight to it.
Select your part from the Part dropdown, then tap ☆ to set it as your default and every song will open straight to that part. Tap the star again to clear it.
Settings Saved Automatically
Everything saves automatically — no account needed.
Choir Geek remembers your volume, default part, zoom level, scroll map & speed, and light/dark theme. Zoom and scroll map save per song. Phrase loop always starts fresh.
Light & Dark Mode
Switch theme to suit the room — saved automatically.
Tap the moon or sun icon in Settings to switch colour scheme. Your preference is saved automatically.
